Experience

Electromec's precision machine facility incorporates many CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machines which as can be seen from our capacity list boasts CNC Wire Eroders, CNC Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centres, CNC Lathes, CNC Surface and Cylindrical Grinders as well as conventional capability to turn, mill and grind.

Electromec's machinists have many years combined experience in precision machining and are capable programmers, setter operators. The programming requirements though are ably supported from our programming department equipped with 3D and 2 1/2 D Licom systems directly linked to all machines for efficient program download. The department can also receive our customers electronic information in any language i.e. Igis, DXF etc to facilitate full CAD/CAM.

Allied to Electromec's machining facility is an assembly area staffed by experienced fitters able to bench prepare and assemble any components or units as required.

Historically Electromec's machining facility has been involved in the manufacture of components for diverse industries incorporating, but not exclusively, electrical-electronics, rotary slip ring-contact, submarine, surface ship weaponry, aircraft airframe and undercarriage, land based and aircraft weaponry, missile, space model and space flight, jig fixtures and tooling as well as countless commercial components.

The components manufactured at Electromec, whether one-off or batches, are subject to the same systems control whereby, where required, planning is comprehensive and covers detail requirements including necessary sub-contract services i.e. heat treatment, manufacturing processes, material batch trace ability and all quality control requirements.

Electromec's machine facility regularly machines components on a one-off basis through to batches and all are scheduled via our production/planning system to ensure on time delivery and our competency extends from the more usual materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloy and plastics to exotic materials like titanium, magnesium, tantalum etc.
