ELECTRO-MEC WINS CONTRACT

Avid Holdings plc is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Electro-mec (Reading) Limited, has won a major precision engineering contract worth £480,000 over a six-month period starting in October 2007.

Electro-mec (Reading) Ltd was acquired by Avid in March 2007, and specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke pill feeding systems for blister-packaged drugs and specialist precision engineering.

Jonathan Bobbett, CEO of Avid commented: “This is an important contract for us adding to our strategy of organic growth. The Board believes that this contract, along side the significant research and development project in the elderly healthcare market (as announced in the interim results), will result in sustainable increases in turnover for the Company.”
