About Us

Electro-mec was established in 1969 as a precision machining contractor. The company quickly earned an enviable reputation for its quality, reliability, on time delivery and service, a reputation it maintains to this day. Its continued achievements and growth have also been supported by on-going investment in the latest CNC machine tools and plant.

Much of Electro-mec's early success was derived from work for the aerospace and defence industries, which became a significant contributor to the company's development. These sectors remain a key part of the business today, providing medium duration contracts for the manufacture of high specification components for commercial aircraft and weapons systems.

In the 1980s Electro-mec diversified its operations into the pharmaceutical market. The initial focus was on the repair and refurbishment of blister pack tooling. Subsequently the company used the knowledge and experience gained in the sector to increase its offering to include the manufacture of replacement tooling sets as well.

Growing demand resulted in the establishment of a dedicated engineering department to handle all blister tooling requirements, which in turn led to the development and launch of Electro-mec's pioneering EMF range of tablet and caplet feeders.

Today there are hundreds of EMF models in operation throughout the world, while in 2007 the company launched its NG next generation of tablet feeders with a number of significant new features and enhancements.

On 16 March 2007 Electro-mec was sold to Avid holdings plc to further develop its market potential.
